JobStart Philippines conducts LST Training of Trainers

As part of JobStart Philippines’ digital transformation, the online Life Skills Training was developed last year to allow beneficiaries to undergo the training virtually. The new and improved LST courses covering additional modules on digital literacy, work productivity, and mental health was pilot-tested by all 2021 implementing local government units.
To further strengthen the capacity of JobStart program implementers with the conduct of online LST, the DOLE-Bureau of Local Employment conducted the Life Skills Training - Training of Trainers for all DOLE Regional, Provincial, and Field Offices and the 47 Public Employment Service Offices. The activity aimed to assess and process their experience in administering the digital LST by providing tips and best-practice knowledge on emerging need-improvement areas, improve gender-sensitive delivery of the LSTs, and strengthen career coaching skills alongside the LSTs.
Mr. Richard P. Monteverde from SFI Career Center facilitated the event with his discussion about best practices in coaching and evaluation and their roles in the 21st century labor market, as well as their integration in today’s e-LST.
