07 June 2024 - Representatives from Palladium Global Philippines and the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) met to discuss the former’s request to utilize selected JobStart Philippines (JSP) Core Skills Training (CST) modules for the USAID CATALYZE program.
Representing the Palladium Group were Ronnel Victor dela Cruz, Technical Advisor for Skilling and Employment, and Maria Karla Abigail S. Pangilinan, Team Lead. The USAID CATALYZE Asia Social Protection (ASP) Philippines project, which began field implementation in October 2023, targets two specific groups: a skilling and employment cohort and a mentorship cohort.
The skilling and employment cohort focuses on senior high school graduates with a 60:40 female to male ratio, aiming to facilitate wage employment for youth aged 18 to 24. The mentorship cohort is exclusively for females aged 12 to 17, primarily beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), aiming to enhance their life skills and access to essential health services.
The primary goals of the USAID CATALYZE project include achieving a balanced gender ratio in employment opportunities, enhancing knowledge and utilization of health services , and producing skilled and healthy workers.
The USAID CATALYZE project wishes to include specific JSP Core Skills Modules into its own Life and Core Skills Training, such as (1) Setting Goals and Finding Your Purpose, (2) Effective Oral Communication in the Workplace, (3) Establishing Good Work Habits, (4) Problem-Solving and Decision-Making, (5) Handling Customer Complaints, and (6) Being Responsible.
A follow-up meeting with DOLE’s Employment and Human Resource Development Cluster Heads and the Palladium Group’s Executive Officers will be scheduled to finalize details and timelines for this collaboration.
